Introduction

This is the web page of the course Statistical Natural Language Processing 1, WS 2023-2024 taught at the Department of Computational Linguistics, University of Tübingen.

This is a first introcution to Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). The course will start with introducing some important areas of math, and conclude with “traditional” machine learning methods for classification and unsupervised learning.

GitHub registration

We will make use of git through GitHub classroom. Please obtain a GitHub account before the beginning of the course.

Literature

There is no fixed textbook for the course. Suggestion for reading will be provided for each topic.
